Deepak Miglani
Deepak Miglani is presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of South Sudan.
Prior to this, he was the Ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome & Principe during the period 2024-25.
He also served as the Consul General of India in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from April 2018 to August 2021 and as the Consul General of India in Erbil, Iraq, from August 2016 to March 2018. He was the first Consul General of India to Erbil, Iraq.
During March 2015 - July 2016, he was the Head of Chancery and First Secretary (Economic) at Embassy of India, Kabul, Afghanistan. Before moving to Kabul, he was the Consul General of India, Kandahar, Afghanistan during July 2013 - March 2015.
At the headquarters, he was Director (Passport Seva Programme) during the period 2021-23 and Deputy Chief of Protocol in the Protocol Division of Ministry of External Affairs during the period August 2011 - June 2013.
His other foreign assignments include those of as Second Secretary (Head of Chancery) at Embassy of India, Bangkok during August 2008 - August 2011, as Attache (Administration) at Embassy of India, Ashgabat during August 2002 - August 2005 and as Attache (Administration) at Embassy of India, Beijing during January 1997 - February 2000.
He hails from Delhi and did his Graduation from University of Delhi. He is fluent in Hindi, English and Punjabi and has intermediate level of knowledge of Portuguese and Russian languages. He is married to Seema Miglani and has one daughter and one son.
